Choke CPH Schedule

Intro Class (by appointment only)

This class serves as a preparatory class to those interested in seriously enrolling at the academy and training regularly in our beginner "Blue Belt" program. During the 30min intro class you will be taught a couple of simple and effective BJJ techniques. You will also participate in a practical exercise that illustrates the concepts of leverage and timing. At the end of the class our instructors will speak briefly about BJJ philosophy and answer any questions you might have.

Enrollees should show up at least 10 minutes prior to intro class time with athletic wear (ie shorts or sweatpants and shirt). If you already have a Gi or Kimono, please wear it. We provide lockers and showers (please bring your own towel).

Fundamentals (beginners)

This program will guide you through the different positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so you familiarize yourself with the art. You will learn the most fundamental techniques and movements in order to develop coordination and muscle memory. This is a 8-class, 1-month program that prepares the new student for the Blue Belt Program.

Blue Belt Program (beginners & intermediate)

This is the first level for adults (over the age of 15) beginning their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Students will learn the basic techniques of BJJ and their applications for self-defense and sports grappling. Class structure is formed around a warm-up, two lessons in technique and partner training to practice the techniques from the lesson. Our Blue Belt Program consists of approximately 40 lessons over 10 weeks.

Advanced Program (intermediate & advanced)

Our advanced curriculum is primarily focused on sports BJJ with the Gi. This program is for ranks blue belt and higher, though white belts with a minimum of three stripes can also participate. We cover one major subject every month and an average class involves lots of sparring.

Nogi

This class is for advanced students only. Here we train both grappling and self defense without the Gi jacket. The attire is gi pants/fight shorts and rash guard.

Team

Members of our competition team gather for some hard training. Before major tournaments, this class also takes place on Saturdays.

Team Training

Mixed Class

Here students from different levels share the mats. The class blends elements from the Blue Belt Program as well as the Advanced Program. Everyone is welcome.

Sparring

We use this timeslot for free sparring rounds under the surpervision of an instructor. There is no technical training, the warm-up is followed by the randori session. Recommended for intermediate & advanced students only.

Private & Semi-Private Classes

Students who want to progress at a faster pace will find private classes to be of great help in their BJJ development. The student can have one-on-one time with the instructor and focus on specific areas of his/her game. Privates are also a great learning tool for students who have a very busy schedule and cannot attend our group classes regularly. Alternatively it is also possible to book semi-private classes with up to four students.

All our programs can be taught in the form of private and semi-private classes, however we strongly recommend students to participate in group classes as much as possible. We reserve mornings (Mon to Thu) for our private classes, but different days/times can be booked to cater to individual needs. Please contact us for more information.

Workshops

These are special 3-hour sessions that focus on one or more specific subjects. Dates are released in advance and there is a limited number of students per workshop. The goal here is to make big improvements over a short period of time.

Kids Program (ages 9-14)

The young student will embark on a fun and motivational journey exploring the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while gaining self-respect and confidence. We are currently accepting applications for this course. If you would like to know more, please contact us.

Ladies Self-Defense (special course)

This is a 8-class, four-week course designed specifically for women. We will teach ladies how to use leverage and proper timing to defend against a bigger, stronger aggressor. We cover common scenarios in escalating degrees of difficulty as the course progresses. In addition to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, you will drastically increase your fitness level. The minimum age to join is 15. This special course runs on specific dates therefore pre-booking is required. If you would like to know more, please contact us.
